As a roofing company based out of Georgia, we've installed many Single-Ply membranes and have extensive experience working with the different types of membranes available. When you contact our roofing company, we'll work with on establishing which system is best for you. Single-Ply Roofing systems have grown in popularity over the last 30 years for home roofing systems to multifamily housing units. Here are some of the advantages Single-Ply Roofing holds:
-
Single-Ply is extremely durable and is highly resistant to punctures and tears while maintaining dimensional stability and tensile strength.
-
It effectively combats damage from exposure to ozone and UV rays, fire, chemicals and exteme weather conditions.
-
Installation is simple and doesn't require heavy equipment.
-
Single-Ply membrane can even be applied when inconvenient weather appears that would otherwise hault the installation process.
-
TPO's & PVC's typically come in a white color which helps reflect the sun's heat and helps reduce energy costs.
-
Membrane thickness of nominal 45 mils to 80 mils.
There are three types of single ply membranes we use:
-
EPDM (Ethyl Propylene Diene Monomer) is an elastomeric rubber roofing membrane (re-inforced and non-reinforced). Glued or taped at the seams and flashings.
-
PVC (Thermoplastic Membrane) is an energy efficient, fiber-reinforced, lightweight roof membrane. Heat welded at the seams and flashings.
-
TPO (Thermoplastic Olefin Membrane) is a high quality, reinforced membrane with superior tear strength and stability. Heat welded or taped at the seams and flashings.
Application of Single Ply Roof Membrane:
-
Fully Adhered System - this adhesive will secure the membrane to the substrate.
-
Mechanically Attached System — special fastening plates that are placed in various patterns based on building height, geographic locale, deck type, and building usage.
-
Ballasted System — loose gravel or interlocking pavers keep the membrane in place.
